Whats in the kitchen cabinet?
The list of new silicone products keeps growing. Commercial-grade bakeware, introduced in 2001, has led to silicone-handled saucepans, baster bulbs and muffin liners. "Silicone is going from novelty item to a core material in the basic kitchenware arena," said Bill McLaughlin, editor of Home World Magazine.
The greatest attitude of silicone bakeware is its "memory for shape retention" said Michael Karyo, chief executive of SiliconeZone. These pans retain their shape, regardless of how they're rolled, bent or turned inside out. For the most part, greasing is not needed; bakedd products pop out easly. And the pans can go from freezer to oven without melting or breaking, then to the dishwasher for cleanup.......
