Monday, April 28, 2003

SAN FRANCISCO— SiliconeZone will, at the Gourmet Products Show here, introduce six steel core kitchen tools, silicone cutting boards and silicone griddle molds.

The steel core was included for added durability, according to the company. The tools are heat resistant to 900 degrees Fahrenheit and feature a geometric patterned easy grip, stay cool handle and die cut tool head.

The tools— which include a red pair of 10 3/4-inch tongs, 13-inch orange turner, 11-inch yellow whisk with Teflon tubing, 13-inch green slotted spoon, 14.5-inch sky blue spatula and 12 3/4-inch dark blue pancake turner— have suggested retails between $15 and $16.

Non-skid silicone cutting boards will also be introduced at the Show. The boards are thin and can be rolled up for easy storage, said the company.

A set of four cutting boards— in pink, yellow, green and orange— retails for $9.99. Manufactured in China, the boards are constructed of FDA approved Japanese silicone.

Silicone griddle molds are heat resistant to 675 degrees F and feature a pull-tab for easy lifting. Molds retail for $5 each.
